Bitcoin Slips Below $63,000 as US ETF Outflows Near $5 Billion Since Mid-May

cryptocrypto-markets 17 posts · 11 accounts

Bitcoin traded back below $63,000 on June 9 as outflows from US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds continued, with one-day net withdrawals of 2,172 BTC, or about $133.5 million, and seven-day outflows of 21,207 BTC, or about $1.3 billion. Bitfinex analysts said the market remained in distribution, with rallies being sold rather than bought, and that ETF outflows were still the main pressure point.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs have shed nearly $5 billion since mid-May. While four funds recorded net inflows on June 8 and the daily pace of withdrawals slowed from the prior day, Wintermute said the recent decline was driven mainly by US institutional selling and ETF outflows, with no clear signs of capital returning yet. The weakness follows last week’s roughly $390 billion crypto-market wipeout and about $7 billion in leveraged liquidations, the worst weekly losses for Bitcoin and Ether since the FTX collapse.
