SpaceX IPO Draws $70 Billion in Retail Orders as $75 Billion Deal Nears Pricing

businessstocks 72 posts · 31 accounts

SpaceX’s initial public offering has attracted more than $70 billion of orders from retail investors ahead of pricing on June 11, according to people familiar with the matter, with that group expected to receive at least 20% of the shares on offer. The company is seeking to raise about $75 billion at a valuation of roughly $1.8 trillion, and overall demand has already exceeded four times the available shares, putting the transaction on course to be the largest IPO on record.

That retail demand is already showing up elsewhere in markets. Vanda Research data indicate three straight days of net selling in semiconductor and AI-linked stocks as traders raise cash for the deal, while the listing also tests Nasdaq’s strategy of using the Nasdaq-100 to attract listings and steer billions of investor dollars toward companies on its exchange. Pricing is expected later on June 11, with trading set to begin June 12.
