AOL and Eventbrite Owner Bending Spoons Files for US IPO, Seeks $20 Billion-$22 Billion Valuation
Bending Spoons, the Italian software company that owns AOL and Eventbrite, filed a Form F-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering under the symbol BSP, seeking a valuation of about $20 billion to $22 billion. The company reported $600 million in revenue and $27.5 million in profit in the first three months of the year.
The business has expanded through a 16-company roll-up that includes Evernote, WeTransfer, Vimeo, Meetup, komoot, Brightcove and Remini, acquiring mature digital businesses and integrating them into its operating platform. Revenue has tripled in two years. The company also carries significant debt, while reporting high subscription retention and limited reliance on paid user acquisition.
