Trump Amends Section 232 Metals Tariffs, Sets 15% Rate for Some Farm and Industrial Equipment
President Donald Trump signed a proclamation amending US Section 232 national-security tariffs on some aluminum, steel and copper imports, the White House said. The changes lower tariffs on agricultural equipment such as combines and harvesters to 15% from 25%, and extend the 15% rate to mobile industrial equipment including bulldozers and forklifts from qualifying trade-agreement nations.
The administration said the revisions are intended to reduce costs for US farmers and manufacturers. The action broadens 15% tariff coverage beyond combines, harvesters and select equipment as the White House adjusts its Section 232 trade measures.
