Strategy Sells 32 Bitcoin for $2.5 Million in First Sale Since 2022

Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, disclosed in an SEC filing that it sold 32 Bitcoin between May 26 and May 31 for about $2.5 million, or an average net price of $77,135 a coin, marking its first sale since a December 2022 tax-loss trade. The company said the proceeds are expected to fund preferred stock dividends, and its holdings stood at 843,706 Bitcoin as of May 31.

Strategy shares fell after the disclosure. The filing follows Michael Saylor's statement earlier Sunday that a separate $1.5 billion transaction was used to buy bonds rather than Bitcoin and that no BTC had been sold. Strategy also said it raised $128.3 million through share issuance last week, and its remaining Bitcoin holdings were acquired at an average price of $75,699.
