OpenAI Plans Biggest ChatGPT Overhaul Since Launch Ahead of Listing
OpenAI is preparing the biggest overhaul to ChatGPT since its launch, turning the chatbot into a superapp that combines coding tools and AI agents and adds products meant to generate more revenue, the Financial Times reported. The changes come ahead of a planned listing this year for the company, which the report said is valued at about $850 billion.
The revamp could begin in the coming weeks and is intended to make ChatGPT a gateway to higher-margin products, according to the report. OpenAI is also putting more emphasis on programming tools and task-executing AI agents as it looks for a new growth engine beyond question-and-answer chatbots.
