OpenAI Plans ChatGPT 'Superapp' Overhaul Ahead of Listing, FT Reports
OpenAI is preparing the biggest overhaul of ChatGPT since launch, aiming to turn the product into a superapp that combines Codex, AI agents, image generation and partner applications, according to reports citing the Financial Times. The changes are expected to start rolling out in coming weeks ahead of a planned listing later this year.
The redesign would give greater prominence to Codex as OpenAI pushes harder into enterprise software and competes more directly with Anthropic. The FT said Codex has more than 5 million weekly active users, up sixfold since its desktop app launched in February, and that about 2 million businesses use OpenAI products, with roughly 40% of revenue coming from business customers. The Information separately said Codex is one of OpenAI's fastest-growing products and that enterprise revenue recently rose 50% week over week.
