TSMC Buys ASML High-NA EUV Equipment, Holds Off Mass Production While It Studies Costs

TSMC has bought ASML's next-generation High-NA EUV lithography equipment, but the machines have not yet been deployed for mass production, Chairman C.C. Wei said. The company is researching how to run the tools more efficiently to lower manufacturing costs.
Wei described the machines as very expensive and said TSMC will move forward with their use in mass production once they can be deployed profitably.
