Anthropic, Valued at $965 Billion, Files Confidentially for IPO
Anthropic said Monday it confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 to the US Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. The filing gives the artificial-intelligence company the option to go public after SEC review, though the number of shares to be offered and the price have not yet been set.
A confidential draft S-1 starts the SEC review process but does not establish a listing date. Anthropic, which has been valued at $965 billion, could make its Wall Street debut as soon as this fall, putting it in a race with rival OpenAI, though timing will still depend on market conditions and other factors.
