Strategy Buys Bonds in $1.5 Billion Move, Leaves Bitcoin Holdings at 843,738 BTC
Michael Saylor said Strategy used a recent $1.5 billion transaction to buy bonds rather than Bitcoin, and that the company sold no BTC, leaving its holdings at 843,738 BTC.
The statement clarifies a week of speculation around Strategy's treasury activity. On-chain transfers had shown about 411.48 BTC, worth roughly $30.3 million, moving to Coinbase Prime before about 411.5 BTC was later withdrawn back. Strategy CEO Phong Le also said last week that the company may at times sell Bitcoin if doing so improves long-term shareholder value, including for tax planning, while still expecting overall holdings and Bitcoin per share to rise.
