Gorsuch Extends Custodia Deadline to July 11 for Supreme Court Review of Fed Master Account Ruling

Justice Neil Gorsuch granted Custodia Bank additional time to file a petition asking the US Supreme Court to review a 10th Circuit ruling that sided with the Federal Reserve in the bank’s fight for a Fed master account. The certiorari petition is due July 11.

Custodia, a Wyoming-chartered bank focused on digital assets, applied for a master account in 2020 and was denied by the Fed. The case turns on whether the central bank has legal discretion to deny a state-chartered bank a master account, a question that could set a broader precedent on access to the US financial system if the Supreme Court agrees to hear it.
