businesscrypto 12 posts · 10 accounts

Strategy completed the repurchase of $1.5 billion of its 2029 convertible notes for about $1.38 billion in cash, an 8% discount that reduced total convertible debt to $6.7 billion from $8.2 billion. The company, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, said it held 843,738 Bitcoin and $871 million in US dollar reserves after the transaction.

The deal completes a plan disclosed earlier to retire about half of the $3 billion of 0% notes Strategy issued in November 2024 to fund Bitcoin purchases. Earlier disclosures had listed Bitcoin sales as one possible funding source for the buyback, while Strategy also said proceeds from stock sales were used to buy 24,869 Bitcoin, lifting its year-to-date BTC yield to 13.3%.
