Nvidia Plans to Spend $150 Billion a Year in Taiwan, New HQ by 2030
Nvidia plans to spend around $150 billion a year in Taiwan, Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said at a Taipei event launching the chipmaker's planned Taiwan headquarters. Huang said Nvidia will deepen partnerships with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron and Quanta as it expands AI infrastructure on the island.
The new site, described as the Constellation AI campus, is expected to begin operations by 2030 as a 4,000-employee research and development hub. Taiwan chip stocks rose after the announcement, which came a week after AMD said it would invest more than $10 billion in Taiwan's AI sector.
