James Murdoch Acquires New York Magazine, Vox Website and Podcast Network for Over $300 Million
James Murdoch, the younger son of Rupert Murdoch, is acquiring New York magazine, the Vox website and Vox Media’s podcast network for more than $300 million.
Under the deal, the acquired businesses will operate as a subsidiary of Murdoch’s Lupa Systems called Vox Media, with co-founder Jim Bankoff continuing to lead the company. Other former Vox Media properties, including Eater, Popsugar, SB Nation, The Dodo and The Verge, are not included.
