Nanya Starts Custom HBM Revenue, Sees DRAM Shortage Through End-2027

Nanya Technology has begun generating revenue from custom high-bandwidth memory products and expects that contribution to rise in 2027, according to a media report citing President Pei-Ing Lee. The company is working with multiple customers on products with bandwidth above JEDEC standards and expects the DRAM shortage to persist through the end of 2027, the report said.

Nanya's current capacity is fully sold out, with customers still seeking two- to three-year long-term agreements. Lee said production capacity is set to expand 80% to 100% over the next two to three years, equipment move-in at a new fab is planned for the first quarter of 2027, and DDR5 will make up a larger share of shipments even as Nanya continues producing DDR4 and LPDDR4.
