South Korea's May 1-20 Memory Exports Surge, Led by 498% DRAM Jump

worldsouth-koreatech 8 posts · 2 accounts

South Korea's memory exports in the first 20 days of May rose sharply across DRAM, NAND and SSDs. DRAM including modules reached $11.527 billion, up 498% from a year earlier and 27% from a month earlier, while DRAM excluding modules totaled $7.488 billion, up 431% year on year and 26% month on month. NAND exports rose 178% to $954 million and SSD exports climbed 452% to $2.224 billion.

Unit prices also increased, with DRAM including modules at $60,319 a kilogram, up 432% from a year earlier, and DRAM excluding modules at $82,820 a kilogram, up 497%. NAND prices rose 280% to $54,716 a kilogram and SSD prices advanced 344% to $21,075 a kilogram. A bullish view on Korean memory stocks cited single-digit P/E multiples, another two to three years of triple-digit growth and limited capacity expansion after revenues were cut in half four years ago.

OMG. It's almost as if single digit P/E with triple digit growth rate = undervalued or something.

RT @tbpn: "Everyone's making fun of these Koreans for being long memory stocks. But we're talking single-digit P/E multiples. It's probably…

Tae: "Don't make fun of the Koreans. They're right!"
