Dell, Hugging Face Unveil On-Prem Open-Source AI Collaboration Amid GPU Shortages
Dell and Hugging Face announced a collaboration to bring on-prem and local artificial-intelligence deployments based on Hugging Face's open-source models to enterprise customers. The initiative was unveiled during the main keynote at Dell Technologies World.
Michael Dell said the approach gives customers "model choice, without infrastructure chaos." Clement Delangue said on-prem and local AI would be an important answer to GPU shortages this year and argued it is cheaper, faster and safer than cloud APIs.
