Anthropic’s Annualized Revenue Nears $45 Billion, Surpassing OpenAI’s $25 Billion Run Rate
OpenAI generated about $5.7 billion in revenue in the first quarter, nearly $1 billion more than Anthropic, according to The Information. But Anthropic’s annualized revenue recently neared $45 billion, compared with OpenAI’s roughly $25 billion in February, indicating the startup may now be ahead on a run-rate basis despite trailing in the first quarter.
Earlier investor disclosures reported by the Wall Street Journal showed Anthropic expecting second-quarter revenue of $10.9 billion, up 130% from $4.8 billion in the first quarter, and about $559 million in operating profit, which would be its first. That would mark a sharp shift from prior projections that had not expected profitability until at least 2028.
