Trump Says Americans’ Finances Won’t Factor Into Iran Talks Amid Inflation

politicsus-foreign-policyworldiranbusinessmacroeconomics 220 posts · 72 accounts

President Donald Trump said Americans' financial circumstances would not influence his approach to negotiations with Iran, answering “Not even a little bit” when asked whether those pressures were motivating him to make a deal. The comment came as fresh government data on Tuesday underscored how the conflict is reigniting U.S. inflation.

The remark follows Trump's earlier insistence that Washington doesn't need to rush an agreement with Tehran because a blockade “allows them no money,” and his assertion that Iran will “100%” stop enriching uranium. The U.S. and Iran remain deadlocked after Trump rejected Tehran's latest response and said the ceasefire was on “massive life support.”

Case in point. Setback in Iran peace talks, surging oil prices, hantavirus, dwindling oil distillate inventory. We don’t care. We just want to keep going up a lot more bc summer is almost here and weather is amazing in NYC.

It cannot be stressed hard enough that Hormuz sovereignty was never a sticking point prior to the war. This is the reality that was shattered, and we aren't going back. Iran threatened the Strait plenty, but it was always largely bluster
