Anthropic Revenue Pace Heads for $50 Billion Amid $900 Billion Funding Talks
Anthropic's annualized revenue is on track to reach $50 billion by the end of next month, according to a Wall Street Journal report, as the artificial-intelligence startup remains in discussions to raise $30 billion of new capital at a valuation of more than $900 billion. The new revenue benchmark comes after Anthropic Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao said in a recent interview that the company's run-rate revenue was about $250 million when he joined two years ago and is now $30 billion.
The fundraising talks were previously reported as advanced, with Anthropic aiming to close the round by the end of May though no term sheet had been signed. A financing at more than $900 billion would more than double the company's $350 billion valuation from February. Rao also said Anthropic would not let compute allocated to model development fall below a minimum level even if that made it harder to serve customers, highlighting the capital demands behind the company's expansion.
