Strategy's Saylor Says Any Bitcoin Sale Would Be Followed by 10-20x More Purchases
Michael Saylor said Strategy would remain a net buyer of bitcoin even if it sold some of its holdings, saying at Consensus 2026 that a sale of one bitcoin would be followed by purchases of 10 to 20 more. He also said the company will always buy more bitcoin than it sells, adding a quantitative response to recent questions about whether Strategy might reduce its bitcoin holdings.
The comments follow remarks from Chief Executive Officer Phong Le that Strategy may sell bitcoin instead of issuing equity when doing so would be more accretive to shareholders on a bitcoin-per-share basis. The company has continued accumulating aggressively, with JPMorgan analysts saying earlier this week that Strategy's bitcoin purchases could reach about $30 billion this year at the current pace.
