Anthropic Previews Claude Managed Agents With Outcome and Budget Controls
Anthropic previewed new Managed Agents features for Claude at this week’s Code with Claude developer event, outlining a hosted approach for longer-running automated tasks that can be assigned an outcome and a budget. The product is being built around Claude running on a cloud-based computer that customers can spin up, scale and manage, with infrastructure intended to support agents operating continuously rather than short-lived demos.
The additions highlighted for Managed Agents include multi-agent orchestration, an outcomes loop for rubric-based self-improvement, “dreaming” between runs and webhooks for external triggers. The preview expands Anthropic’s recent developer push after Claude Code this week received more than 60 additional reliability fixes, following more than 50 fixes the prior week, and after the company said on May 6 that a SpaceX partnership for Colossus 1 would add more than 300 megawatts of capacity within a month and help raise Claude Code and API usage limits.
