SolarEdge Q2 Revenue Outlook Beats Estimates Despite Wider First-Quarter Loss
SolarEdge reported first-quarter revenue of $310.5 million, topping the $307.3 million analyst estimate, though sales fell 7.4% from the prior quarter. The company posted a non-GAAP net loss of $0.43 a share, wider than the $0.28 analysts expected and the $0.14 loss in the prior quarter. SolarEdge said that excluding an approximately $14 million one-time expense, the loss would have been about $0.20 a share.
The company said first-quarter revenue rose 46% from a year earlier and margins expanded for a sixth consecutive quarter. For the second quarter, SolarEdge forecast revenue of $325 million to $355 million, above the $305.5 million analyst estimate, and said it expects to be close to breakeven operating profitability at the midpoint. Chief Executive Officer Shuki Nir said SolarEdge is focused on rolling out the Nexis platform and advancing its AI data-center power roadmap.
