Andreessen Horowitz's a16z crypto said its new $2.2 billion fund will be deployed across financial infrastructure, with areas of focus including stablecoins, payments and blockchain infrastructure. The disclosure adds detail to the firm's latest crypto fund.
The vehicle is a16z crypto's fifth fund. The $2.2 billion raise is smaller than the firm's record $4.5 billion fourth crypto fund from May 2022, but brings total capital raised across its five crypto funds to about $9.8 billion.
