Unimicron, a Taiwanese maker of ABF and HDI substrates, reported April revenue of NT$13,932.8 million, up 6.5% from March and 27.6% from a year earlier, marking a record monthly high. The company said a supply-demand imbalance for ABF substrates is intensifying as AI server platform upgrades and demand for high-speed computing increase.

Unimicron said revenue growth should accelerate further in the second quarter as price increases are gradually reflected. Utilization rates for its ABF, BT substrate and HDI businesses reached about 90% in the first quarter and are expected to remain high in the second quarter. The company plans to expand ABF substrate capacity by about 40% this year and expects AI-related revenue to account for about 60% of sales, up from roughly 40% last year.
