ByteDance Raises 2026 Capex Plan Above $30 Billion as Memory Chip Costs Rise
ByteDance plans to lift its 2026 capital spending to more than $30 billion, at least 25% above a preliminary $23.5 billion plan, as it expands AI infrastructure amid rising memory chip costs, according to the South China Morning Post.
The higher budget builds on earlier reporting that ByteDance had raised planned AI infrastructure spending this year by 25% to 200 billion yuan. A larger share of the outlay is set to go to domestic AI chips, with Washington having approved Nvidia H200 exports to China while Beijing has yet to clear local companies to import them.
