DeepSeek Nears $45B Valuation as China’s Big Fund Leads Funding Talks
DeepSeek is in talks for its first fundraising round at a valuation of about $45 billion, with China Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund — the state-backed semiconductor investment vehicle known as the Big Fund — discussing a lead role, the Financial Times reported. The latest disclosure gives concrete terms to earlier reports that the Chinese AI company was seeking outside capital for the first time.
The financing talks would bring one of China’s main chip-sector investors into a major AI funding round as the cost of developing advanced models rises. Separate reports on the current discussions said Tencent is also in talks, though the investor lineup is not finalized.

@teortaxestexReasonable. DeepSeek is, fundamentally, a semiconductor project as well, most just don't see it yet. By the way, CXMT & YMTC were once put on Pentagon's Section 1260H (seem removed now). The problem will be utilizing this capital, becau
