FBI and HSI Serve 22 Warrants in Minnesota Fraud Probe
Federal agents on Tuesday executed about 20 to 22 court-authorized search warrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area as part of an ongoing fraud investigation, according to Homeland Security Investigations and a Justice Department spokesperson statement. HSI said federal, state and local law-enforcement partners took part in the operation and declined to provide further details, citing operational security and agent safety.
The searches targeted daycare centers and behavioral health centers in Minnesota suspected of government fraud, according to CBS News. At least some of the businesses were Somali-owned, according to CBS, and Fox News reported that one warrant was served at the Quality Learning Center in Minneapolis.
