Crypto hacks rose in April, which DefiLlama described as the most-hacked month in crypto history by number of incidents. CertiK said confirmed losses from exploits totaled about $651 million during the month, with roughly $3.5 million attributed to phishing.

That made April the highest-loss month since March 2022’s roughly $715 million, if February 2025’s Bybit losses are excluded. The reported incidents included LayerZero with $292 million tied to an rsETH bridge exploit on April 18 and Drift Trade with $285 million tied to a compromised admin and fake token price manipulation on April 1, followed by Rhea Lend at $18.4 million and Grinex at $15 million.
