Twilio Beats Estimates and Raises Full-Year Outlook
Twilio reported first-quarter revenue of $1.41 billion, up 20% from a year earlier and above the $1.34 billion estimate, while EPS of $1.50 topped the $1.27 estimate. Non-GAAP income from operations was $279 million, gross margin was 50%, and dollar-based net expansion rate was 114%. Chief Executive Officer Khozema Shipchandler said the quarter delivered Twilio's strongest revenue and gross profit growth in more than three years, with demand for AI-oriented voice products increasingly serving as an entry point to the platform for enterprises and AI-native customers.
For the second quarter, Twilio forecast revenue of $1.42 billion to $1.43 billion, ahead of the $1.39 billion estimate, and non-GAAP income from operations of $250 million to $260 million. The company raised its full-year revenue growth outlook to 14% to 15% from 11.5% to 12.5%, and lifted its non-GAAP operating income and free cash flow forecasts to $1.08 billion to $1.10 billion. Twilio also repurchased $253.4 million of shares in the quarter.
