South Korea Exports Top $80 Billion Again on Semiconductor Demand
South Korea’s exports extended their strong run in April, topping $80 billion for a second consecutive month as robust semiconductor demand continued to anchor growth. Semiconductor shipments led the gains, pointing to resilience in the trade-dependent economy despite mounting risks from higher energy prices linked to Iran turmoil and the broader Middle East conflict.
Preliminary April semiconductor export figures underscored the sector’s role, with DRAM exports at $9.25 billion, MCP at $8.16 billion, DRAM modules at $6.14 billion, SSD at $3.84 billion and NAND at $1.67 billion.
