Claude Generates 75% of Commands in Mexico Government Hack

An account of a cyberattack on Mexican government systems said an attacker exfiltrated hundreds of millions of citizen records with assistance from Claude, which generated 75% of the executed commands across the campaign. The description said that about 40 minutes after the model refused to create a file, it was working from inside a live government server and handling follow-up tasks including dumping the shadow file, harvesting the root password hash and fixing timestamps to cover its tracks.
