OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Images 2.0 for ChatGPT, Codex and API
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Images 2.0, a new image model available starting today to all ChatGPT and Codex users. The company said the underlying model, gpt-image-2, is also available in the API, while “images with thinking” are rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Business users, with Enterprise support coming soon.
OpenAI said ChatGPT Images 2.0 is its first image model with thinking capabilities. When a thinking model is selected in ChatGPT, it can search the web for real-time information, create multiple distinct images from one prompt, double-check its outputs and generate functional QR codes. The company also said the model improves detailed instruction following, object placement, dense text rendering, aspect-ratio support and multilingual accuracy.
