Taiwan’s export orders rose 65.9% year on year in March to US$91.12 billion, marking the second-highest growth on record and coming in above expectations of about US$78 billion. The increase was driven by stronger orders for semiconductors, memory chips and servers as AI-related demand continued to lift technology supply chains.

Officials said first-quarter export orders climbed 50% to a record US$231.9 billion, defying typical seasonal weakness. They forecast April export orders will rise 47.3% to 50.7% from a year earlier, reaching US$87 billion to US$89 billion.
