Trump Says Powell Probe Remains Open Over Fed Building Costs
President Donald Trump said an investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell had “not dropped,” pushing back on reports earlier Friday that the Justice Department had dropped the inquiry.
Trump linked the matter to the cost of a Federal Reserve building project, saying he wanted to know how a building he said could have been done for $25 million had cost $4 billion. He said Powell “was in charge” and added that “we’ll get to the bottom of it.”
