Agnico Eagle is set to acquire Rupert Resources for C$2.9 billion in Finland, part of a broader consolidation valued at about C$4 billion that also includes Aurion Resources and B2Gold’s joint-venture stake.
The deal would give Agnico Eagle full control of the 3.5 million-ounce Ikkari system and combine it with Kittilä, which has 3.3 million ounces of reserves. The combined land position spans about 2,500 square kilometers and is described as supporting a path toward roughly 500,000 ounces of annual production.
