API Corrects U.S. Crude Inventory Data to 3.3 Million Barrel Draw
The American Petroleum Institute corrected its weekly inventory report to show a 3.3 million barrel draw in U.S. crude stockpiles, reversing a prior estimate of an identical build.
The revision also listed a 918,000 barrel increase in gasoline inventories, a 355,000 barrel rise in distillates, and a 273,000 barrel reduction at the Cushing, Oklahoma hub. The strategic petroleum reserve recorded a 3.7 million barrel draw. Market analysts noted the correction raises expectations that the Energy Information Administration's official report will reflect a decline of at least 5 million barrels.
