Samsung Electro-Mechanics Raises MLCC Prices 30% Starting Aug. 1
Samsung Electro-Mechanics is raising prices on certain MLCC products by 30% starting Aug. 1, citing structural growth in global electronics demand that has strained supply chains beyond what the company can absorb through manufacturing efficiency gains. The adjustment applies to all MLCC products under its markup business code and covers shipments made on or after the effective date.
Taiyo Yuden is implementing a separate MLCC price increase starting Sept. 1 to offset rising raw-material costs, warning that requested delivery schedules cannot be guaranteed. Supply is expected to remain insufficient to fully meet customer demand after both adjustments, leaving manufacturers unable to promise on-time deliveries.
