NextEra, Brookfield Back $100 Billion Kentucky Data Center and Power Project
NextEra Energy and Brookfield announced a partnership to build a $100 billion artificial intelligence data center campus at Kentucky’s former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, supported by new natural gas power generation and battery storage facilities.
The privately funded project is expected to add 800 megawatts of grid power, create approximately 8,000 construction and 600 permanent jobs, and reach completion by 2032, transforming the shuttered Cold War uranium-enrichment facility into a major energy hub in rural Western Kentucky.
