Tesla Buys 90% of Power From 509-MW Solar and Battery Project in Arizona
Tesla has signed a long-term agreement to purchase 90% of the electricity output from Project Sterling, a new solar and battery facility in Arizona. The project, developed by ContourGlobal, will deliver 509 MW of peak solar generation paired with 360 MW of four-hour battery storage.
KKR is backing the facility, which is scheduled to enter service in 2028. The agreement comes as expanding artificial intelligence data center construction tightens electricity markets across the United States.
