China Rejects New U.S. Forced-Labor Tariffs, Calls on Washington to Remove Them
China rejected new United States tariffs justified by forced labor claims, calling on Washington to scrap the duties in its first direct response to the freshly imposed trade measures.
The diplomatic pushback adds to broader opposition to the recently reinstated tariff framework. The duties took effect earlier this week following a Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the administration's previous trade restrictions.
