Russia Extends Fuel Export Ban to January 2027, Lifts Diesel Restrictions for Direct Producers in September
Russia has imposed a temporary ban on exports of gasoline, diesel fuel, marine fuel and gas oil through Jan. 31, 2027, to stabilize the domestic market. Under the decree, restrictions on diesel, marine fuel and gas oil will lift on Sept. 1 for direct producers. Exports remain permitted for international agreements and humanitarian aid, based on government decisions.
The policy follows refinery disruptions and domestic fuel shortages reported in recent months. Several domestic plants have resumed operations, though officials note that refined product output may remain below prior levels for the rest of the year.
