GCC, Arab States Condemn Attacks on Saudi Oil Facilities
The Gulf Cooperation Council and Arab states including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Egypt condemned attacks on Saudi oil facilities on Wednesday, with several calling them violations of Saudi sovereignty and backing Saudi measures to protect the kingdom.
The GCC said the attacks were part of continued assaults by Iran-backed forces in Iraq and called them a serious escalation and a direct threat to regional security. Kuwait and Qatar said drones were launched from Iraqi territory against oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia, while Egypt also condemned attacks targeting Jordan and said they threatened regional stability and global energy security.
