Tether Launches $185 Million USAT Stablecoin on Celo Blockchain
Tether launched its USAT stablecoin on the Celo blockchain, adding native minting, burning and gas fee payment functionality to the GENIUS Act-compliant asset.
The launch marks USAT's second mainnet deployment following Ethereum, expanding the token's distribution beyond its initial blockchain. Issued by Anchorage Digital Bank and introduced in January, the stablecoin has reached a market capitalization of approximately $185 million.
