Valero Posts Record Quarterly Profit as Renewable Diesel Margins Hit $2.52 A Gallon
Valero Energy reported its highest quarterly profit on record for earnings per share, surpassing analyst estimates as refining margins hit record levels. The company posted a profit of $2.52 per gallon on renewable diesel sales and $1.15 per gallon on ethanol.
Other major U.S. refiners, including PBF Energy and HF Sinclair, reported their best quarterly profits since 2022 and 2023, respectively, as domestic plant closures and global fuel shortages tightened supplies. Additional refining giants are scheduled to report next week with investor expectations for similarly strong results.
