Strategy Sells $544.5 Million in MSTR Shares to Boost Cash Reserve to $3.75 Billion, Halts Bitcoin Purchases for Fifth Week
Strategy increased its U.S. dollar reserve by $525 million to $3.75 billion, securing enough cash to cover 2.1 years of preferred dividend payments. The company raised the proceeds by selling 5.4 million MSTR shares last week.
The firm did not purchase Bitcoin for a fifth consecutive week, maintaining its total holdings at 843,775 coins. Strategy also repurchased $25 million in STRC convertible preferred stock at an average price of $86.52 per share and confirmed it will continue buying the preferred securities below $100, with $975 million in remaining authorization. Future buybacks will be funded separately from the cash reserve and may utilize additional MSTR share sales or Bitcoin liquidations.
