Amazon Tops Q2 Revenue Estimates With $200.6B Sales As AWS AI Run Rate Hits $25B
Amazon reported second-quarter revenue of $200.6B and earnings per share of $5.75, beating analyst estimates for both metrics. Operating income rose 43% to $27.5B, supported by a 37% year-over-year increase in Amazon Web Services sales to $42.2B.
The company said its artificial intelligence and semiconductor units each passed a $25B annual revenue run rate. Amazon set third-quarter revenue guidance of $197B-$202B, missing expectations, while trailing twelve-month free cash flow recorded an outflow of $7.6B. Shares gained more than 7% in extended trading.
