Robinhood Raises Q2 Revenue to $1.31 Billion on 10-Fold Event Contract Surge
Robinhood reported second-quarter revenue of $1.31 billion, a 32% year-over-year increase that beat estimates, while diluted earnings per share rose 48% to $0.62. Transaction-based revenue grew 44% to $776 million, primarily driven by a tenfold jump in event contract sales.
The surge in prediction markets pushed event contract revenue above both crypto trading fees, which fell 38% to $100 million, and equities fees, which reached $129 million. The company also reported record net deposits of $21.7 billion and grew its paid Gold subscriber base to 4.84 million, bringing its total number of business lines exceeding $100 million in annualized revenue to 13.
