NXP reported second-quarter non-GAAP earnings of $3.61 a share, beating estimates by 11 cents, on revenue of $3.5 billion, slightly above the $3.46 billion forecast. The chipmaker also raised third-quarter sales guidance to between $3.65 billion and $3.85 billion, topping the $3.69 billion estimate, and lifted EPS forecasts to $3.89 to $4.32 from a projection of $3.98.

Financial performance was supported by a 150 basis point expansion in non-GAAP gross margins to 58%, driven by strength in automotive, industrial, and communications segments. AI-enabled products now account for 50% of the industrial and IoT division's sales, with the company noting that software-defined systems are increasingly integrating intelligence into vehicles and factories.
