U.S. refiners are importing the most Venezuelan crude in nearly a decade, with July shipments on pace to reach 804,000 barrels a day.
The surge comes as Canadian wildfire risks threaten regional supplies and Texas and Louisiana refineries run at full capacity. U.S. sanctions halted imports in 2019 before volumes increased following the ouster of Venezuela’s former president, Bloomberg data show.
